Lecture: My Post-operative Rehabilitation & Return to Sports Criteria: Instability
Abstract:
Effective managements after shoulder instability surgery start with a thorough preoperative assessment for individual factors. Despite of differences in surgical techniques and rehabilitations, a progressive and multi-phase supervised physical therapy and rehabilitation program is general principle to return to sports. The early phases focus on allowing tissue healing and scar formation, and controlling the advancement of mobility. The later phases address the integration of strength to move toward previous sport activities. At least 6 months of rehabilitation is needed to reduce redislocation rate.
