Dr Saw Khay Yong is the founder and a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at the Kuala Lumpur Sports Medicine Centre in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He specializes in knee joint arthroscopic surgery with the application of stem cells for chondrogenesis together with bone and soft tissue regeneration.

Abstract:

Knee joints with massive chondral defects in the younger population represent an ‘unmet medical needs’. KART (KLSMC Articular Regeneration Technology) is a stem

cell technology developed for chondrogenesis. The surgical technique, peripheral blood stem cells injections and postoperative physiotherapy were developed to ensure the regeneration of high quality repair cartilage.
